Gainful Occupation Permit

A Gainful Occupation Permit (GOP) enables non-Seychellois individuals to engage
in employment or self-employment activities within Seychelles.

Initially, the prospective non-Seychellois employee must obtain an approval certificate
from the Ministry of Employment and Social Affairs.

After securing approval, applications for Gainful Occupation Permits should be submitted to the Immigration
Office, located at Independence House, Victoria, at least one week prior to the employee’s intended start date.

Why Obtain a Gainful Occupation Permit?

The same process applies for extending the validity of an existing GOP or altering job titles or duties.

It is mandatory for the prospective employee to secure a Gainful Occupation Permit before entering Seychelles for employment purposes.

The application form must be completed by the prospective employer or, if self-employed, by the individual seeking the permit.

A processing fee of SCR 1,000 is required at the time of application submission.

The permit fee, set at SCR 500 per month or part thereof, covering the entire duration requested, is payable upon application.
